Larry David is a lifelong homebody and germaphobe — which makes him perfect to represent DoorDash’s contactless food delivery service! DoorDash will be teaming up with the comedian to poke fun at the inconvenience of going out and advocate for a contactless lifestyle.
To quote the king of introverts himself, “Human contact is repulsive.”
TV SPOT
We see the famous curmudgeon struggling to deal with food delivery that isn’t quite contactless. Larry gets frustrated and sets an exaggerated example of what DoorDash aims to prevent.
Product Extension
In the spirit of Larry David, DoorDash is designing a food delivery mailbox to help customers avoid any and all social interaction.
During DoorDash transactions, drivers will be given a code that unlocks their individual customer’s contactless mailbox so that they can simply drop in the order and send an alert.
The LD x DD food mailbox will be rewarded to DoorDash’s most frequent users and will serve as a hilarious trophy for the most dedicated introverts.
Out-of-home
DoorDash wants you to stay home. Playful billboards in downtown areas will use the tone of Larry David to say that there’s really no reason to go out.
A Stunt for the Fans
Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” has maintained a loyal cult following for the past 20 years. DoorDash is going to do a bit of fan service by bringing the show’s “Latte Larry’s” into the real world.
DoorDash will partner with local cafes in cities across the nation to sell their products as delivery-only “Latte Larry’s” stores.
Local businesses across the nation will benefit from the Latte Larry’s branding and DoorDash will gain the recognition of Curb loyalists.
